If you have a mega sweet tooth and wish you could have those famous Hershey's peanut butter cups anytime you want them, you've come to the right place. I promise these will be a hit with your family and friends.
1 18 oz. jar smooth peanut butter
1 stick room temperature butter
1 box powdered sugar
1 t. vanilla
3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
3 T. shortening
Combine the peanut butter, softened butter, powdered sugar and vanilla in a large bowl until thoroughly mixed together. Then roll the mixture into small balls and place on a baking sheet. You need to chill them until firm. Place them in the fridge for a few hours or overnight.
When you're ready to dip them in chocolate, melt the chocolate chips and shortening in a double boiler over simmering water. Carefully dip each peanut butter ball in the chocolate and place on a serving tray. Refrigerate for up to two weeks or they can be frozen.
I'm laughing at these being saved in the refrigerator for two weeks...they'd be gone in 24 hours! lol
ReplyDeleteI know, right!?!
ReplyDeleteCan I use coconut oil instead of shortening?
