Grilling Season: BBQ Chicken Wings

Chicken wings don't have to be deep-fried to be delicious.  Along with pork ribs for the Labor Day meal, I grilled chicken wings as well.  The char on the wings provides a great crunch and pick your favorite BBQ sauce to glaze onto the wings after they are finishing cooking.

You'll need about 3 pounds of wings, separated and end tips removed.

Pat wings dry with a paper towel and sprinkle with salt, black pepper, and granulated garlic.

Preheat your grill to high (425 degrees F.) and place wings skin side down on the grates. Lower heat to maintain a consistent temperature of between 350-375 degrees F.

Turn wings every few minutes or so to ensure even cooking.  As the fat cooks out of the wings, the skin will begin to crisp.

When the wings reach an internal temperature of 180 degrees F., lower the heat to maintain a consistent temperature of 225 - 250 degrees F. and brush on your favorite BBQ sauce.  Allow the sauce to glaze onto the wings.  Serve immediately.
