Taotronic Air Fryer Cajun Catfish Fillets

I had some catfish fillets in the deep freeze and made the decision to thaw them and experiment with the air fryer.  I was thrilled with the result.  Coated with seasoned cornmeal, they came out of the air fryer perfectly cooked and nice and crunchy!

I had six medium sized fillets.  You may need a little more or less cornmeal.  If you like a lot of spice/heat, add as much seasoning as you'd like.  If you prefer a subtle amount of heat, season your cornmeal accordingly.

4 - 6 catfish fillets (4 - 6 oz. each)
3/4 - 1 cup self-rising cornmeal
2 - 3 t. Cajun seasoning
olive oil spray

Preheat air fryer to 400 degrees F.

Rinse fish under cool water and pat fry with paper towels.  Add cornmeal to a shallow plate and mix in the seasoning with a fork.  Place fish, one piece at a time, into the cornmeal, pressing gently to thoroughly coat each piece.  Lightly spray each piece with olive oil.

Place fish onto racks of air fryer or into the basket.  Depending on which type of air fryer you have, you may need to cook in batches.

Set the timer for 10 minutes, turn the fish over and cook for 10 more minutes.  Flip one more time and cook for an additional 2 minutes.  The internal temperature of the fish needs to be 145 degrees F.

Serve with fresh lemon wedges and tartar sauce.

I cooked the potatoes in the air fryer as well!  Peel the potatoes and cut into "steak fry" slices.  Coat with olive oil and cook for 12-15 minutes at 400 degrees F until fully cooked and nicely browned.  Season with salt and serve immediately.
