Blackstone Griddle: French Toast and Link Sausages

The fun continues with the Blackstone Griddle! Here's my first attempt at French Toast.  The best bread to use for French Toast?  The top three choices of bread to use for French Toast are Brioche, French Baguette, and Challah.  These breads will hold up to the eggy batter.

I also cooked link sausage from Swaggerty Farms.  If you're cooking breakfast for a crowd or just a few, the Blackstone can get your food on the table in a flash.

We'll start with the sausages.  Preheat the griddle on medium.  Place the sausages on the griddle and let them cook!  Easy peasy!  Simply use a  metal spatula or tongs to turn them every few minutes as they brown.  When cooked through, remove from griddle.  I love Swaggerty's!  If you go to their website, you have the option to sign up to receive a LOT of valuable coupons.

Now we'll get to the French toast!

In a medium bowl, whisk together the following:
1 cup milk
2 eggs
1 T. ground cinnamon
1 T. vanilla
pinch of salt

Preheat the griddle on low.  The secret is to use real butter on the griddle just before placing the prepared bread slices down to cook. When the butter begins to bubble, dip the bread slices into the milk/egg mixture one slice at a time.  Place the slices onto the griddle and let them cook 2 - 3 minutes on each side.  When the toast is nice and brown, remove from the griddle.  Serve immediately with syrup and/or powdered sugar.

Breakfast is served!
