Dining Out Southeast: Katie Thai Cuisine, Gadsden, AL

Sweet Harold and I are extremely fortunate to have an extraordinary Thai restaurant within 2 miles of our home.  It seems like every time we pass by the parking lot is packed and for good reason!

We are continuing our low carb plan and with the rice/noodles omitted from these dishes, we had a fabulous relaxing dinner.

We started with Tom Yam Goong soup.  This famous Thai's spicy and sour shrimp soup with fresh aroma of spices and herbs, lemon grass, Kaffir lime leaves, lime juice, mushrooms, and cilantro was the perfect start to our meal.

Next, we shared Nam Sod which is minced pork with ginger, red onion, roasted peanuts, lime juice, scallions, and cilantro served with fresh cabbage for wrapping.  This dish had the perfect balance of flavors and spice.

We shared Cashew Nut Chicken as our entree:  Tender pieces of chicken with a generous portion of cashews along with bell peppers, onion, and scallions.  Oh my....this was delicious!  We didn't miss the rice at all.

For my local friends, please take a drive up to Lookout Mountain and enjoy Thai food in a small spot directly across from the entrance to Noccalula Falls.  If you are new to Thai food, the servers are great in explaining all the dishes and their spice levels.

Katie Thai has lunch specials as well.  You'll find all your Thai favorites on their menu!
