Dining Out Gulf Coast: Christo's Sports Bar and Grill, Panama City Beach, FL

As we left for home last Friday, we decided to eat lunch before getting officially on the road.  We had heard/read a lot about Christo's Sports Bar and Grill located on Thomas Drive.  Yes, it's connected to a gas station. Yes, the parking lot was packed at 11:30 a.m. Yes, we stopped without hesitation to join in on the fun that we knew was happening inside.

We had a 5 - 10 minute wait for a table.  While waiting, we surveyed the dining room area.  The servers were almost synchronized in their movements.  It was beautiful to watch.  The place was filled to the brim, but people were being served in an amazingly efficient manner.

By the time we were seated we were certain this was going to be a great meal and we were right!

We began our meal with a basket of onion rings.  No frozen rings here.  These are onion rings I will be thinking about month from now.  Served super hot and fresh with a great crunch!

Sweet Harold needed one more taco fix! He selected the fish tacos today.  That day's fresh catch happened to be cobia and opted to have them blackened. As delicious as the fish was, the corn salsa stole the show.  We could have eaten bowls of this stuff!  The island sauce added another level of flavor and was very tasty in a tropical way.  The tacos are served with your choice of fries, potato chips, or pasta salad.

I wanted a burger to hold me on the way home.  I chose the Classic Burger and added pepper jack cheese.  Served with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and the most delicious pickles I've ever eaten. These were super crunchy and packing a little heat as well.  I found out later than I could have requested a pint to take home! Note to self:  Next time, buy the pint to take home!

My burger was well seasoned and cooked just as I requested.  The fries were delicious as well.

I know on our next trip to the beach the spot where we will stop for lunch as soon as we get there!

I can't say enough about the workers.  We didn't just have one server, every server was our server.  Every restaurant owner could take a lesson from the efficiency and friendliness of the servers at Christo's.  Bravo!!
