Our 2024 Thanksgiving Meal

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day with family and friends, and I hope you did, too!

I just wanted to take a minute to share pictures of our meal with all of you.

Sweet Harold smoked six turkey breasts for us.  We had two for our meal, then kept another one for us to enjoy in gumbo and, of course, those leftover turkey sandwiches!

I always have a small ham along with the turkey.

Do you think this was enough chicken and dressing?

Most of the time I enjoy the side dishes more than the turkey and ham!  We had a very nice variety ranging from broccoli salad and green bean salad (my mom's recipe) to sweet potato casserole.  My daughter and I differ on our opinions on whether it should be classified as a vegetable or a dessert!

Now to the desserts!

My 13 year old granddaughter made this beautiful and delicious Orange Cranberry Cheesecake!

Friends brought the pumpkin and pecan pies!

I made cream cheese mints...those are actually purple, not blue.  I tried to mimic the autumn leaf colors.

Sweet Harold requested a fresh apple cake.  I was happy to bake it for him.

My mother always made Christmas Punch for us.  I've adapted the recipe a bit to have a Harvest Punch for Thanksgiving.

I hope you and yours had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day and made lots of memories.  We certainly did.
