This isn't a recipe per se, but more of instructions on assembling the cake. Start with an angel food or pound cake in a loaf shape. Carefully cut a section from the middle to simulate a hot dog bun.
I found a "twinkie style" cake that was red velvet. Instant hot dog! Place into the bun.
I chopped white and green gum drops for the pickle relish and chopped onions. A little shredded coconut passes for kraut.
You could use yellow and red tube icing for the mustard and ketchup. I mixed a little food coloring into white corn syrup and drizzled over. Voila!
