Before leaving New Orleans Sunday morning, we stopped in at New Orleans Coffee and Beignet Company. You can easily find their page on Facebook by clicking the link.
Their specialty is the chocolate beignet. Unlike the version we're more familiar with, these delicious little bites are 1/4 of the size and very light and airy. These had a great chocolate flavor and had just the right amount of powdered sugar dusting on top. If you'd like more, there's a container of powdered sugar on the table for your convenience.
These were excellent. I brought the leftovers home, added a little more sugar and they were still very tasty hours after ordering.
