Dining Out Cherokee, North Carolina: Peter's Pancakes and Waffles

We were ready for breakfast bright and early this morning and headed about 2 blocks north of our hotel to Peter's Pancakes and Waffles.  Their motto is "A Breakfast to Crow About."  It's a true motto!

While waiting about 20 minutes for our table, we enjoyed the view of the river behind the restaurant.

Then we spent the remaining wait time enjoying the rocking chairs out front.

We knew we were in for a treat when the hostess had her microphone calling people's names when tables were ready.  She could have a second career as a bingo caller.  I wish I had asked her name.  She was so friendly and welcoming.

Menus were on the table as we were seated and Sweet Harold's coffee arrived quickly thereafter.

You can take one of these cool coffee mugs home for the reasonable price of $15.  Yes, one is going home with SH.

He chose Breakfast #8 which is a three egg omelette (he chose sausage and cheese as his filling) and biscuits with gravy.  I suppose because he IS cute, they added diced potatoes to his plate.

 Y'all this gravy rocked!

I chose Breakfast #7 which has 2 eggs (I wanted scrambled), country ham, and diced potatoes with toast.

The eggs were perfectly cooked, the potatoes were well seasoned, and the country ham was excellent.  Such a great breakfast to get our day started on the right foot.

Service by Kristen was outstanding.  While the restaurant was extremely busy, the food arrived quickly, and SH's coffee cup was never below half filled.

If you're looking for a breakfast spot in Cherokee, head to Peter's Pancakes and Waffles.  You may have a bit of a wait, but enjoy the scenery, make new friends with others who are waiting, and anticipate that breakfast!
