Around Lolly's Sideboard: Vintage Valentine for 2025

This year, I decided I'd enjoy a Vintage Valentine's Day sideboard.  I'm sure no one is surprised that when I start digging through totes, and unwrapping this and that, I always find items that come together beautifully.

This display has nary a piece of Fiestaware...I know y'all are shocked.  However, it does contain pieces that belonged to my parents, Cranberry glass that I purchased at a variety of Estate Sales and antique stores, along with a set of glassware and dinnerware that I had totally forgotten I had bought!  Surely, I'm not the only one who does that.

I'll share with you what I've learned about these beautiful and vintage pieces.

We'll start with the cranberry glass.  Cranberry glass is an Indiana Glass product.  The diamond point ruby flash candy dish with lid is almost 16 inches in height.  The dish is made of clear glass with a ruby red band around the rim of the bowl.  The ruby color is achieved by adding gold salts or colloidal gold to the molten glass.  It's a very impressive candy dish!

The smaller piece is a footed sherbet/berry bowl.  I also have a sugar and creamer made in the same style.  I love these pieces.

I was able to purchase 8 of these Vintage Kings Crown Ruby Red stemmed wine goblet for a great price.  These were made in the 1960s.

This vintage Anchor Hocking Royal Ruby glass pitcher and tumbler set are likely from the Windsor pattern produced in the 1940s.  The Windsor pattern is characterized by a geometric and ribbed design.

The taller tumblers to the right (in the picture above) are a vintage Wheaton Glass Company's ruby red "bullseye" pattern from the 1960s.

Now to these gorgeous goblets!  These are a Cristal D'Arques Durand French Vintage antique ruby red wine goblet manufactured in the 1970s.

The dinner plates and salad plates were also manufactured Cristal D'Arques Durand in northern France.  These plates are known for their distinctive ruby red color and intricate pressed glass design.  The back of the plates feature a starburst pattern in the center with a diamond pattern around the border on the underside.  The top side is smooth.

And thanks to Hobby Lobby for the vintage Valentine cutouts and triple heart!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

  1. Pretty, pretty. I love red glass. Red, pink and emerald green are my absolute favorite color in glass.
