Dining Out Southeast: Nighthawk Tavern, Dahlonega, GA

We took a road trip over to Dahlonega, Georgia this week to celebrate a granddaughter's 13th birthday.  Granted her birthday was a few months ago, but she's a busy young lady with an active life and we made a special day of celebrating her.

We visited antique stores (which she loves to do) and spent a few hours at a gem mine (which she also loves).

But we had to have lunch!  We walked around the square and decided on Nighthawk Tavern.

Here are a few pictures of the menu.

The restaurant is located in a historic building and has a very "cozy" dining area.  You'll meet new friends!

My granddaughter had chicken fingers and fries for her lunch. She gave her meal two thumbs up.

Sweet Harold selected the half-pound Angus cheeseburger.  He was content with his choice as well.  It was cooked to his requested medium.  It was well seasoned and served with lettuce, purple onion, and tomato.

I chose The Cheef:  Italian Beef on a toasted hoagie roll, with mozzarella and hot giardiniera with au jus for dipping.  This was a very tasty sandwich!

All in all, great service, delicious food, and a fair price for the three of us for lunch.  Win/Win/Win

If you're spending some time in Dahlonega, check them out!

  1. The Italian beef looks good, I would have probably gone with the Gyro.
