Dining Out Oahu: Goofy Beach Dogs, Waikiki, Oahu, Hawaii

Now earlier in the week, we had dined at Goofy and enjoyed a late lunch which included Ahi Tuna Nachos and Garlic Shrimp.

We noticed at the time this menu board that directed you toward the back entrance of the restaurant and where a walk-up order window was available.

As you can see, this is a "I just finished surfing/swimming and I want to grab a bite" kind of menu.  It's also a "we just walked 20 blocks sightseeing and we want to grab a bite" kind of menu.

So we did!

As I've mentioned before, Sweet Harold has recently become fixated on pickled jalapenos.  So much so he's eating them with most everything.

I knew immediately which hot dog he would order:  The Volcano Chili Cheese Dog.....with jalapenos.

Oh boy, he was very happy with his choice.  He opted for sea salt on the fries.  The hot dog bun is under there, I promise.  It was a little too messy to pick up to try to photograph, but sometimes the messiest food is the bestest food, right?

I had the Beach Classic Dog:  mustard, ketchup, relish.

Mine was a tad more manageable, so here's a picture of it "out of the box."

This was not a skinny minnie hot dog!  This was a meal!

I chose to top my fries with furikake which typically consists of a mixture of dried fish or freeze-dried eggs, sesame seeds, dried seaweed flakes, sugar, and salt.  Hey, it's always fun to try new things!

I loved the savory, umami flavor it gave the fries!

I also ordered a guava juice drink.

It was refreshing without being overly sweet.  It was perfect with my hot dog.

And the garnish!  I loved seeing these Dendrobium orchids everywhere! πŸŒΊπŸ’œ

So what was a split second decision to just "grab a hot dog for lunch" turned into a nice relaxing meal that we're still talking about.  Don't you love it when that happens?
