Dining Out Gulf Coast: Provisions Restaurant, Port St. Joe, FL

We recently celebrated our 23rd Wedding Anniversary with a dinner at Provisions Restaurant in Port St. Joe, Florida.  Here's an excerpt from their web page:  "Provisions was established in 2005 when we relocated from Miami, Florida.  We strive to consistently serve fresh, high quality, culturally diverse, and beautifully prepared food for your enjoyment."  They certainly did just that for us last week.

We called for reservations and I would definitely recommend you doing so. We arrived and were promptly seated at our reserved time. The dining area was filled to capacity.  With so many diners, it was noisy, but everyone was enjoying themselves and as we looked around, every dish that was being served was plated beautifully.

The menu is extensive with a variety of salads, pasta, chicken, sandwiches, along with steak and seafood options.

I started out with a glass of Moscato while we perused the menu.  Our server, Jair, was wonderful.  He kept water glasses filled, timed the arrival of our courses perfectly, and was simply delightful.

We started with Sesame Seared Tuna with Wasabiyaki Sauce and Wacumbi Seaweed Salad $15.00. This was a  generous serving of perfectly seared tuna.  The sauce was delicious, but the tuna stood on its own.  I've never had this particular salad before, but I am a fan!

Doesn't he look happy?

Sweet Harold chose Snapper Picatta:   Snapper Filet lightly dusted in flour, pan-seared and served with a traditional Picatta Sauce, Angel Hair Pasta and Grilled Vegetables $29.00.  He commented that the "fish was well seasoned, not overcooked and the vegetables and pasta were perfect."

I selected the Shrimp Carbonara (petite size) $11.00  A standard size is available for $19.00.  My portion was more than enough for me.  Shrimp, Bacon, Onions and Penne Pasta tossed in a creamy Parmesan Sauce.  I loved the addition of the shaved Parmesan added on top.  The sauce was rich and creamy as expected and there was an ample portion of shrimp.  The toasted slice of bread was an added bonus.

We seldom order dessert, but it WAS our anniversary!

Sweet Harold's Tiramisu.  He gave two thumbs up!

My Triple Chocolate Cake.  Check out the chocolate chips on the outer portion of the cake! All I can say is that this cake was as delicious as it looks.

Trust me, it's worth a trip to the beach to eat at Provisions!
