Dining Out Southeast: Mountain Parkway Grill, Sand Rock, AL

After last week's enjoyable meal at Mountain Parkway Grill, we knew we wanted to return to try their steaks!

We've worked hard today here at Chez Lolly and decided that this afternoon was a perfect time to take the scenic drive on the Lookout Mountain Parkway to have an early dinner.

We couldn't decide on an appetizer, so we chose two! Cheesesticks with Marinara and Fried Mushrooms with Ranch Dressing.

I really liked the thinner version of cheese sticks.  The proportion of the crunchy exterior to the gooey interior was much more balanced than other cheese sticks we've eaten.

Hot from the fryer, these mushrooms were delicious. They are also offered as a side item on the menu.

Sweet Harold opted to have a "small bowl" trip to the salad bar.  Here's his creation of some of his favorites including candied jalapenos, bread and butter pickles, pickled beets, and green pea salad.  Yes, there is lettuce salad underneath these goodies!

I chose the 10 oz. grilled ribeye steak with a baked potato and fried okra as my side items.  The steak is flavored with their special seasoning blend instead of using a marinade.  No steak sauce was needed for this well-seasoned ribeye.  And yes, I brought some home!

Sweet Harold went big and chose the 16 oz. grilled ribeye.  Yes, he brought some home as well!

Once again, we were too full to try their homemade desserts.  Maybe next time!

Next time, we're trying the BBQ!
