Y'all know how I love experimenting with different types of burgers. I haven't been able to find ground pork for the past few months. But last week, there were packages at the meat counter waiting on me to snatch them up!
I pondered all sorts of flavor combinations and toppings. What did I finally choose?
Salt, black pepper, granulated garlic! Simple ingredients that flavored these burgers perfectly. I found these great slider buns and knew I wanted small burgers instead of regular size. These patties are slightly larger than your average breakfast sausage patty. They were perfect for the buns.
1 1/2 lbs. ground pork
1 t. sea salt
1 t. black pepper
1 t. granulated garlic
In a medium mixing bowl, lightly mix the ground pork with the seasoning. Gently shape into 3 oz. patties.
Place a large skillet over high heat. When a drop of water sizzles, add half the burgers. Lower heat to medium-high and cook for 2 - 3 minutes on each side until the internal temperature reaches 160 degrees F.
Remove from the skillet and repeat with the remaining burgers.
When all the burgers are cooked, lightly butter the buns and place in the skillet cut side down until lightly browned.
I spread mayonnaise on the bottom bun, added some buttercrunch lettuce, sliced onion, the burger, top with ketchup and put mustard on the top bun.
Serve with a baked potato for something different than fries or chips!
