I've heard good things about this quaint breakfast/lunch eatery for a while. Recently, we went for a Friday morning breakfast. We enjoyed our meal and experience enough that we returned the NEXT Friday morning for breakfast. With this blog post, you'll get the scoop on both our meals.
Breakfast is served all day at Tre's Southern Cafe with daily lunch specials, including gourmet sloppy joes, BLTs, deli sandwiches, grilled meatloaf sandwiches, homemade potato soup, or chili. As you can see, there's something for everyone!
We were promptly seated on our arrival, and social distancing was observed on both our visits.
Now, let's get to the food! Sweet Harold's order was more than would fit on one plate! A true Southern biscuit with a generous side of sausage gravy.
The remainder of his meal: scrambled eggs, sausage, and home fries.
I chose to build my own omelet with bacon, cheese, and bell peppers. With an added side of home fries, this was enough for three meals! The menu states it's a two-egg omelet. I beg to disagree. It was filled with loads of cheese and was delicious.
When we finished eating, our server confirmed it was our first visit. A few minutes later, she returned with a warm from the oven homemade cinnamon roll. Just look at this beautiful pastry!
Now, here we go to Meal #2. I'm not a fan of really crispy bacon; I prefer a little bit of chewiness. This bacon was fried perfectly for me. The scrambled eggs were soft and well seasoned. I could eat an entire plate of the potatoes by myself, and even though I didn't mean to crowd them out of the picture, the grits in the upper right were a nice addition to my meal.
After hearing my rave reviews of the omelet, Sweet Harold opted to try a sausage-filled version. Another homerun here. A very ample portion of tasty food.
Oh gosh, all of that looks mighty fine.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend.
