While in Vicksburg, MS for the BBQ competition tomorrow, we're staying at WaterView Casino and Hotel. After donating some money for entertainment at the slot machines, we decided to grab a quick bite for dinner. After that lunch, we didn't want a big meal tonight.
We each had a piping hot bowl of gumbo from the Sand Bar Fish House and Grill located in the casino.
The gumbo had a rich and flavorful base and was full of shrimp, sausage, chicken, and okra. This bowl rates in the top three gumbos I've ever eaten at a restaurant. Lots of crackers were provided and no hot sauce was needed to spice things up to the gumbo. It was perfect as served!
Hey, you are not that far from my neck of the woods now. We rarely go over to Vicksburg. Use to go more when the outlet mall had more stores.
