Dining Out Southeast: Brick and Spoon, Tupelo, MS

After Saturday night's dining debacle, we were ready for my birthday breakfast Sunday morning!  Thankfully, we located Brick and Spoon not too far from our hotel.

As soon as we walked in the door, we were warmly greeted.  The dining area was modern, spotlessly clean, and smartly decorated.  Our server, Nikki, was a delight.  She was knowledgeable of the menu and helped us select the perfect breakfast.

Upon learning it was my birthday, she offered a serving of complimentary beignets.  They were a little more dense than I've had before, but that didn't stop us from eating every bite!

Sweet Harold had a difficult deciding between a ham and cheese omelet and the Bananas Foster French Toast.  The French Toast won out after Nikki told him he could have cashews added along with the pecans!

I was hungry for Eggs Benedict and, wow, these were delicious!  The English muffins could have been toasted a bit more because I do like the texture of a toasted English muffin.  The eggs were cooked slightly over with a minimum of runny yolk, but the hollandaise sauce was excellent.

I had a choice of regular grits or cheese grits and, of course, I ordered the cheese version!  The grits were nicely cooked with a lot of cheese!  So very tasty.

This was such a great birthday breakfast!

There are Brick and Spoons in several locations in Mississippi and along the Gulf Coast.  There are also locations in Pigeon Forge, TN and Tuscaloosa, AL.  Knowing there's one in Tuscaloosa makes us both very happy!
