Ground Pork Tacos

Y'all get a two for one with this blog post:  a new product (to me) alert and a new recipe!

I spied this product recently at our local Food City grocery store.

Wampler's has been a family-owned business since 1937.  Click on the link for all the details of their variety of products and a great selection of recipes to incorporate all their goodies into your meal planning.

After trying this seasoned pork taco meat, I'll be sure to pick up a few packages on my next shopping trip to have in the freezer.

I browned the ground pork in a large skillet over medium heat breaking it up as it cooked with a wooden spoon.  The aroma of the meat while it was cooking really stirred up my appetite!

The flavor was on the mild side, but they also have hot and chorizo to choose from if you'd prefer.

All in all, I was well pleased with this product.  The flavor and texture were great and the ease of preparing the meat would be ideal for even the most novice cook.

I heated some zero net carb tortillas, started with a layer of shredded Mexican blend cheese, and then added the hot taco meat.  Assorted toppings included shredded lettuce, sour cream, salsa, and diced onions.  I wish I had had some radishes.  I love sliced radishes on tacos.  If you haven't tried them, next time you make tacos, get you some!
