Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry

Last week, I had some broccoli and mushrooms that needed to be cooked and beef tips were on sale and, voila, dinner was on the table in a flash.  As always, when cooking a stir fry meal, prep all of your ingredients beforehand.  When you begin the stir fry process, it will go quickly.

For the sauce:
1/4 cup Kinder's Japanese BBQ seasoning
1 cup water
2 T. soy sauce
1/4 t. sesame oil

Whisk all sauce ingredients together and set aside.

2 T. olive oil
1 - 1 1/2 lb. beef tips
1 large yellow onion, halved lengthwise and thinly sliced
1 T. minced garlic
4 - 6 oz. sliced white mushrooms
3 - 4 cups broccoli florets
sesame oil
white/black sesame seeds for garnish

In a wok, heat the olive oil over high heat.  Add beef tips and cook, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon.  When cooked through, place the beef tips in a bowl and set aside.

Add the onions, garlic, mushrooms, and broccoli to the wok.  Add a little more olive oil if needed.  Cook, again stirring constantly, until broccoli is tender-crisp.  You don't want to cook the veggies until they are mushy.

Add the beef tips back to the wok and stir to combine with the veggies.

Pour in the sauce, and bring to a boil.  Continue stirring and cooking for about 3 - 4 minutes until the sauce thickens.

Remove from heat and drizzle with the sesame oil and sprinkle with sesame seeds.  Serve immediately.
