Dining Out Cherokee, NC: Native Brews Tap & Grill

From their website:
Native American Brewing brings together heritage and the earth’s bounty to create craft beverages with a deep connection to the land and the tribe’s rich past.

As a granddaughter of one of the Eastern Band of the Cherokee Indians last recorded medicine men, our co-founder Collette Coggins is a living link to our dependence upon on the fruits of the earth to nourish and heal.

Throughout our history, the Cherokee shared fermented drinks during tribal ceremonies, drank them during social events and sipped on them to ward off illness. We at Native American Brewing pay homage to these Cherokee traditions and the healing powers of the medicine man in everything we do.

In fact the icon at the center of our logo is a sign of health, wealth and prosperity, reminding us of a time when the medicine man reaped the blessings of the earth to help our people thrive and flourish.

Now on to our amazing meal!

I started with the Smoky Mountain Margarita:  House Margarita Mix, Citrus Liqueur, Tequila, Rosemary Infused Simple Syrup.  This drink was sooooo smooth!

Sweet Harold tried their version of a Long Island, the Oconaluftee Island:  Vodka, Gin, Capt. Morgan White Rum, Tequila, Sour Mix, Splash Coke.  He was VERY happy with his beverage!

We haven't had fried mushrooms on this trip, so that's what we ordered.  Nice tender mushrooms, lightly battered, and served piping, and I mean piping hot!

SH (thankfully!) chose something other than fish and chips tonight even though they were on the menu!

He chose the Whiskey Berry Meatloaf, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, and Green Beans with a tangy whiskey berry sauce.  He LOVED everything and the portions were very generous.  The bite of the meatloaf he shared with me made me realize I need to up my meatloaf game!

I selected the Blackened Catfish served with yellow rice and broccoli.  The fish had the perfect amount of seasoning, the yellow rice was some of the best I've ever had and the broccoli was perfectly steamed.

Everything about this meal was great!  The atmosphere is a sports bar vibe, the entire restaurant was clean and pleasant, and the tables were spaced enough you didn't feel crowded.

Our server, Angella, was friendly and was able to answer all our questions and made suggestions to make our meal special.  Even the food runner (I wish I had asked his name!) was friendly and asked if we needed anything.

Even though we were full, we asked Angella for dessert suggestions and chose a new item they are offering:  Raspberry Donut Cheesecake.  Oh my goodness.....this was out of this world delicious!

Now that I have you drooling, here are the menus!  As you can see, there are so many options and choices for whatever you're in the mood for from burgers, comfort food, steaks, and chops!

The beverage choices are amazing as well.
