While researching online for "cocktails to serve with BBQ," I stopped and realized that I already knew what I was searching for so diligently! Smoky meats call for smoky based liquor and what better alcohol choice for that than BOURBON!
We chose Jim Beam as our mixer of choice for this refreshing cocktail. It's a great mixer and since you're using the alcohol as a supporting character instead of the main star, it's the perfect choice. Save the top shelf varieties for sipping neat!
2 oz. Jim Beam
1/2 oz. freshly squeezed lime juice
4 oz. ginger beer (already frigerated and cold!)
A wedge of lime and mint sprigs for garnish
Crushed ice (this is a must!)
The copper mug helps to insulate this cocktail and keep it nice and chilled while you sip and savor all the nuances of this drink.
- Fill a copper mug with crushed ice.
- Add the bourbon and lime juice.
- Top with ginger beer and stir gently to combine.
- Garnish with a fresh lime wheel and a sprig of mint
- Serve.
- Locate the nearest front porch (preferably with a rocking chair and an old hound dog) and enjoy your Southerness.
