Around Lolly's Sideboard: Winterling Dawn Rose

To me, this sideboard should be classified as Understated Elegance.  This set of china belonged to my mother.  It is a 10 piece place setting.  I can only remember her setting the table with this gorgeous china only a handful of times during my life.

I love the delicate beauty of this pattern.  The muted colors and the lightly scalloped edge are so balanced.

These are the markings on the china.

From my internet research this is what I discovered:

The company was started by seven Winterling brothers in Röslau, Bavaria an area in southern Germany famed for its beautiful porcelain clay. It was founded as Gebrüder Winterling O.H.G. in 1907. Ten years later they took over Oscar Schaller porcelain factory located in Schwarzenbach.

The company was know for its traditional and porcelain dinnerware and serving pieces.

The glassware is Old Williamsburg and I've had them since 1979.  Aren't they pretty with the china?

I'm so thankful that I have this set of my mama's china.  I plan on using it more than she did and will enjoy the memories we make at our meals.
