Dining Out Ohio - Dingle House Irish Pub, West Chester, Ohio

We got settled in West Chester, Ohio on 8/2/15 and upon the recommendation of our desk clerk at the hotel, drove the few miles to Dingle House Irish Pub.

We began the meal with a pint of Guinness for Harold and a Harp for me.

Because we were both starving by this point, we enjoyed Irish egg rolls while we studied the extensive menu.

Irish Egg Rolls —Freshly-chopped corned beef, cabbage and aged Swiss cheese wrapped in a crispy egg roll wrapper and fried golden brown, served with House 1000 Island dipping sauce. $8.49

What a unique idea and we were glad we chose this appetizer.  The egg roll wrapper was thin and crunchy and the filling was seasoned perfectly.

If Harold sees the words "fish & chips" on the menu, his decision is made.  That night was no exception.

Dingle Fish n‘ Chips — Our Signature Dish! One huge portion of hand-dipped, beer-battered haddock fried golden brown and served with our signature gourmet tartar sauce, seasoned potato wedges and a side of creamy coleslaw. $14.99

They spoke the truth with no blarney when they referred to this portion as "huge."  Non-greasy and fried to the "just perfect" point.

I was intrigued by the description of the meatloaf entree and knew I wanted to try this version.  Kildare Irish Meatloaf — Chef’s twist on mom’s meatloaf! A mix of corned beef and Choice Angus beef mixed up just right and served with a generous portion of garlic mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. Topped with your choice of House demi glace or Sweet BBQ sauce. $11.99

I chose the demi glace over bbq sauce.  Mine came with the cup of cole slaw instead of the menu description "seasonal vegetables", but I enjoyed it just the same.  And yes, that is a slice of thick cut bacon wrapped around the outside of the meat loaf.  Delicious.

On two of the interior walls, was some amazing rock work.  When I got up to take pictures of the pictures, one of the servers told me that another server had painted the artwork in the arches.  They're beautiful aren't they?

Live music is scheduled on a regular basis and there were options for bar dining as well as indoor or outdoor tables.

If we lived in the area, we would certainly return.
