Dining Out Southeast: Wacked Out Weiner, Gadsden, AL

Tonight we tried a new restaurant in town:  Wacked Out Weiner.  If you are a hot dog lover, you'll love this place!

All beef hotdogs served on a steamed bun with unlimited toppings, which include the following:

Homemade coney style chili, shredded cheese, chopped onions, hot chow chow, sweet chow chow, coleslaw, jalapenos, banana peppers, Rotel tomatoes, crispy bacon, sweet relish, dill relish, jalapeno relish, Fritos corn chips, nacho cheese, dill pickles, sauerkraut, loaded baked potato salad, melted cheese, white cheddar mac and cheese, BBQ baked beans,  peanut butter, grape jelly, Fruity Pebbles, yellow mustard, spicy mustard, ketchup, mayo, BBQ sauce, hot sauce, Sriracha, hot dog sauce, cayenne pepper, celery salt, sour cream, and weiner dust! (Weiner dust is a spicy powdery condiment that's added to the very top of your hot dog masterpiece.)

If that's not enough goodness, they offer a half dozen specialty hot dogs such as:

Sailor Hank:  peanut butter, grape jelly, crispy bacon, and Fruity Pebbles cereal

The Wacky Macky:  white cheddar macaroni and cheese with crispy bacon and Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce

Combos are available, which include chips and drink.  They also offer a kid's menu.

And, if you want to raise the wow level, Conecuh Sausage dogs are available!

Here's what we enjoyed!

Sweet Harold decided he would choose his own toppings and selected a regular hot dog with chili, coleslaw, onions,  jalapenos, and a sprinkling of weiner dust!

I built my own as well and chose the beef hot dog as well.  A dill pickle spear was the base, topped with loaded baked potato salad, then the hot dog, and onions topped with crumbled bacon, spicy mustard, BBQ sauce, and weiner dust!

As we were finishing these two delicious hot dogs, the owner asked if we'd like to try anything else.  I told him I wanted to eat my way through the menu!  He offered us another one to try, and we shared the "Ragin' Cajun."  If you love heat, here's the one to choose!

Your choice of a hot dog with spicy brown mustard, jalapeno relish, red pepper relish, jalapenos, Frank's hot sauce, cayenne pepper, or weiner dust.

Wacked Out Weiner is definitely a great place to take the kids (big or small) and have fun choosing the toppings.

We'll be back to mix and match toppings that's for sure!

  3. Oh my! I’d love to live next door to this place and try a different topping every day until I tried each one (except raw onions-lol) then start making my own combos after trying their specials. Yum!!!!
