Last night, we walked the half block from our hotel to Circle H Chophouse for dinner. This restaurant opened a few months ago and is owned by the family that owns Peter's Pancakes and Waffles that I blogged about earlier in the week.
This restaurant is best described (by me anyway) as one of casual elegance. The dining room is large and airy. No crowded together tables. The atmosphere is welcoming with fresh flowers on the hostess stand.
We arrived shortly before 6 p.m. and were immediately seated and offered a beverage/wine list.
Rolls were brought to the table while we reviewed the menu.
As you can see, there is something for everyone!
Our server was Adrianna and she was simply awesome. She was knowledgeable of the menu offerings, had answers to all our questions, and was attentive to us during the meal without hovering. She's a definite asset to this establishment!
We couldn't resist the Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes prepared Maryland Style with Remoulade Sauce. Y'all. If we had eaten these and left, our meal would have been perfection! They were delicious! And look at these huge pieces of crab. There was barely any filler.
Sweet Harold chose the Char-Grilled Bison Medallions with parmesan crusted scalloped potatoes and roasted asparagus.
The bison was cooked to medium, was extremely tender and well seasoned. The potatoes were flavorful and the parmesan crust added a nice texture. Roasted asparagus is always a winner in his book.
While the salmon is the star of this dish, the supporting characters deserve a shout out as well. First, the salmon was perfectly cooked and easily flaked with my fork. The ginger soy drizzle was oh, so tasty. It took the salmon to the next level for sure. The asparagus and potatoes were an excellent match and completed the meal nicely.
Yes, we were full. Yes, we should have asked for the check at this point. No, we did not. What did we ask for? The dessert menu.
Any time you are within driving distance of Cherokee, please make plans to dine with the great people at Circle H Chophouse. You can thank me later.
Oh my, I don't know if I could have walked out after eating all that. It sure looks fantastic.
