We had a very light breakfast at the hotel this morning (muffins/tea/coffee) and after a morning of exploring we were ready for lunch! We decided we'd give Granny's Kitchen a try. As we waited with a few people outside, we learned that they serve a breakfast buffet, then switch over the buffet for lunch. We had arrived right at the changing over time. Then, we learned through the waiting line chatter that the restaurant had served breakfast for the Cherokee graduating seniors this morning!
As soon as they opened the doors at 11, the race was on! We were all quickly seated, drink orders taken, and we were encouraged to visit the buffet. There was a nice salad bar with a large bowl of iceberg and spring mix greens along with all the usual salad bar offerings.
Today's main course offerings included turkey, dressing/gravy, green beans, mashed potatoes, corn, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, smoked sausage with cooked cabbage, biscuits, cornbread. We were too full to go back for desserts so I can't recall what was offered.
The interior is large, welcoming, with ample seating for what I would expect to be large crowds every time the doors are open!
It was a great, homey meal and we enjoyed every bite!
That meal looks good.
