Dining Out Southeast: Coaches Corner Sports Bar and Grill, Wetumpka, AL

We spent a few hours in Wetumpka, Alabama today.  Several family members and friends had encouraged us to try Coaches Corner Sports Bar and Grill.

The exterior is certainly inviting and you have no doubt you're entering a sports themed eatery!

We were warmly greeted and escorted to a table on an enclosed deck overlooking the picturesque Coosa River.

While we checked out the menu, we munched on freshly friend pork skins.

They were served warm and were lightly seasoned.  Super tender and crunchy, these hit the spot!  We carried most of these with us to snack on later.

Sweet Harold spied fish and chips on the menu, so his lunch decision was made.  Our server, Kate, assured him that he could swap the chips (fries) for onion rings which is what he did.  The beer battered fish was light and crispy.  He was happy with the side of coleslaw and enjoyed his meal.  The tartar sauce (housemade??) was delicious as well.

I chose the Lil' Mighty Fine Burger which is a 1/4 lb. char-grilled beef patty topped with lettuce, onion, tomato, and pickle. I chose tater tots as my side.  The burger was well seasoned and cooked just to well done.  It was juicy and the bun was soft and lightly buttered and toasted.  This is what you want a burger to be!  I've been watching the carbs for a few months as y'all know, but I had to try these tots.  Yummy!

We enjoyed relaxing on the deck watching the river flow by while eating our lunch.

Service was great and we'd like to visit again and try more things on the menu.
