We spent yesterday traveling up the Northeast Coast of Northern Ireland. We stopped mid-morning at Glenarm Castle to have a late breakfast at the adjacent tea room.
There was a large assortment of breakfast sweets as well as plain croissants and croissants filled with meats and cheeses.
I neglected to take pictures of Grandson #1's Bacon Soldiers with soft boiled eggs or of Grandson #2's pancakes. They both had empty plates at the end of the meal so I think we can all assume they enjoyed their breakfasts.
Nathan ordered the homemade breakfast granola which is served with almond milk, berries, and maple syrup. Doesn't that look scrumptious?
Eggs Forager: Poached eggs with garlic and thyme mushrooms served on toasted sourdough bread with hollandaise sauce.
The eggs were perfectly poached, the hollandaise was creamy and rich, and there was a variety of mushrooms in the mix. This was an ideal breakfast to enjoy on a road trip through Northern Ireland.
I also enjoyed several cups of steaming hot Irish breakfast tea.
I saved the best for last. Sweet Harold is loving all the different variations of sausages and bacon/ham. He went all out and ordered the Traditional Glenarm Fry.
Sausages, mushroom, black pudding, tomato, bacon (which is more like ham to us), a perfectly fried egg, and a selection of toasted bread. You have to admit, that is a gorgeous plate of food!
We all received a good nourishing breakfast to fuel us during our day of exploring. A beautiful setting to enjoy "being in the moment."
That all looks so good, it had to be delicious.
