Dining Out United Kingdom: Cuban Sandwich Factory, Belfast

After enjoying a wonderful walking tour led by my son to see numerous murals and learning more about The Troubles, we were ready for some lunch!

We were in need of a quick bite because we were due to attend the youngest grandson's Christmas program at his school.  Cuban Sandwich Factory to the rescue!

Bonus points if you spotted Lolly in the reflection of the door in the picture above!

This restaurant has a cozy welcoming feel as soon as you walk through the door.  We found a nice table near a window and selected our lunch choices.

Sweet Harold and Nathan chose the Classic Cubano with chips (fries).

This sandwich had the perfect ratio of meat to bread.  The bread was toasted nicely and the filling (consisting of Cuban style roast pork, glazed ham, gherkins, American mustard, and Swiss cheese) was well seasoned.  They both agreed the fries were the best we've had so far on the trip.

I chose the Ropa Vieja (shredded braised beef brisket with grilled peppers and onions, cheddar cheese).  This sandwich was amazing!  The sweetness of the peppers and onions was a nice contrast to the richness of the meat and cheese.

I concur on their opinion of the fries.  Delicious!

Emily had the Media Noche (roast pork, ham, Swiss cheese, gherkins and choice of sauce).  She gave rave reviews of her sandwich as well.  The rice and beans were flavorful and a nice side for the sandwich in place of the fries.

The atmosphere was great, all the diners were in a jovial mood, and the food was delicious!  And, yes, we made it to the Christmas program in time.  :)
