Yesterday, Nathan took us out for one last day of exploring before we return home. As always, we needed a good meal to fuel us for the day, so he selected Haptik for a unique and delicious brunch.
Here is the menu!
We began with some hot beverages to warm us. They're almost too pretty to drink. I don't drink coffee, so I had the hot chocolate with marshmallows.
Nathan had an oat milk latte. I think. lol
Sweet Harold had the Flat White with brown sugar. Again, I'm not up on the dozens of names for coffees and I have no idea what a flat white is or what it tastes like, but he enjoyed it enough to get a second cup. You can either use white or brown sugar and the brown sugar was delivered to the table in its own special container. Neat!
Now on the business of food!
Nathan ordered the Huevos Rancheros: homemade spicy beans, chorizo, fried egg, salsa, avocado, sour cream, guindilla chilli, cheese, and sriracha served on a toasted tortilla.
Can you believe all the amazing colors that are on these plates? Everything was so fresh and flavorful. He ate every bite!
Sweet Harold chose the Baghdad Eggs: Two eggs fried in Ras-el-hanout on homemade flatbread with sun dried tomatoes, pistachio, feta, za'atar, radish slices, halved grapes, pomegranate seeds, and herby yogurt. I was so proud of him for really stepping out of his comfort zone and trying a dish that had a ton of unfamiliar flavors for him. Guess what? He ate every bite as well!
Now it's my turn! Remember how I mentioned that savory breakfasts are my thing. Well, this was the ultimate savory breakfast dish! Mushrooms on Toast: Garlic and thyme mushrooms on sourdough toast, with pesto, sliced radishes, balsamic, feta, walnuts, and truffle oil. This was my favorite breakfast of the trip!
Now if none of these dishes appeal to you and you want to grab a bite and a cup of something hot and run on your way, you have these bites of goodness to tempt you.
