The signature beverage for our St. Patrick's Day meal this year is the "Irish Horseman."
The recipe is from the book Bartending for Dummies. Sweet Harold was the official bartender for the evening. This recipe only has four ingredients and you can use any brand of Irish Whiskey you like. His favorite is Bushmills; mine is Tullamore Dew. A dinner guest brought Tullamore Dew so we used that for this drink. To me, it has a much smoother taste that other Irish whiskeys.
1 1/4 oz. Tullamore Dew Irish Whiskey
1/4 oz. Triple Sec
1/2 oz. sweetened lime juice
1 - 2 dashes Chambord or raspberry Liqueur
Combine the first three ingredients in a cordial glass with crushed ice and stir. Add one to two dashes of the raspberry liqueur. Serve immediately.
