Caprese Burger


As y'all know, the flavor which make up "caprese" mozzarella, tomatoes and basil are one of my all time favorite flavor combinations.  And what better way than to use them as a topping for a burger.  

I cooked these burgers on a flat cast iron griddle pan.  I added a layer of salt, let the griddle get very hot and then added the patties.  The salt, along with the very hot griddle pan, gives an extremely flavorful crust.  

Cook the patties to your desired degree of done-ness, and then add a nice helping of shredded mozzarella cheese, top with thick slices of Roma tomatoes and then tuck in some basil leaves.  

These were amazing.
