Grilled Grouper Tacos

Sweet Harold told me mid-week that he was craving fish tacos.  Luckily, we had grouper in the freezer from our last trip to the Gulf Coast.  It didn't take the fish long to thaw and I made these quick and easy grilled grouper tacos for our dinner last night.

This package of grouper weighed in at a little over a pound.  There were a few pieces that had separated during the freezing/thawing process so that's the smaller bits you'll see in the following pictures.

I liberally seasoned with Kinder's "Seafood Blend."

A few months ago, I had some Kohl's cash (don't you love Kohl's cash??) that needed to be used.  I found this grill pan at a hugely discounted price.  I knew this would be an ideal way to cook this grouper on the grill.

I let the grill heat up and then sprayed the pan with olive oil spray.  I placed the pan directly on the grill grates for a few minutes to get hot and then added the grouper pieces to the pan.  I immediately heard a nice sizzle so I knew I was right on track.

I let the fish cook for 2 - 3 minutes and then flipped them over to continue cooking.

After another 2 - 3 minutes of cooking, the internal temperature showed 145 degrees F. on the instant read thermometer.  All done!

I gently removed the fish from the grill pan and placed on a plate.  Then I used a fork to break the grouper into bite-sized pieces.

Here are our toppings.  I like to use different textures to add some crunch to the tacos, i.e., red onion and cabbage.  The taco sauce and lime, along with the fresh tomatoes, add a touch of acidity.  The cheese and sour cream are the creaminess and the cilantro adds that punch of earthy herbaceousness!

These were perfect for a lazy Sunday afternoon supper.

  1. Looks good. I want to look for that seafood seasoning. I'll try it on our bass that we catch.
